Our Statements

VISION

Our vision is to raise the next generation of leaders in Uganda by pursuing excellence in academics and practical skills, integrity in conduct and moral values, so that each one becomes a responsible member of our community and a productive citizen.

MISSION

We reach and empower vulnerable children and women, so together, they can become leaders who impact their communities and rebuild their nation.

PURPOSE

We support the residents of Kampala by reaching and empowering vulnerable children and women into impactful leaders who in turn work to close the gaps of opportunity and create access to resources they need and deserve.

PRINCIPLES

In addition to its mission Bridges of Grace embraces seven fundamental principles to guide all decision making and programming. They are:

Inclusiveness: We embrace diversity recognizing that all community members have a right to be heard and participate in processes that affect their lives and avoid barriers to participation in society such as poverty, disability, age, race and ethnicity.

Community Self-Determination: Community members come together to discuss concerns, assess options and arrive at their own conclusions.

Community Ownership: Communities thrive when they develop their own assets and when they “own” their problems and issues.

Leadership Development: Leaders are sought and developed to lead by grassroots.

Enhance Natural Capacities and Networks: Identify existing sources of strength as community assets and work with them.

Problem Focused Learning: Encourage people to think about the causes of problems, act, and learn from the outcome.

Preventative Action: Strong communities have the capacity to identify potential problems and take preventative action.
