Leadership
Serving under Christ
At Bridges of Grace, leadership is not about position. It is about service.
We believe every leader is first called to follow Jesus Christ — the One who came not to be served, but to serve. Our responsibility is to care for the mission with humility, prayer, integrity, and love for the people God has entrusted to us.
Bridges of Grace is led by people who are committed to the Gospel, the authority of God’s Word, discipleship, compassionate care, and faithful stewardship.
Our desire is simple: to serve in a way that honors Christ, protects the vulnerable, strengthens the ministry, and keeps the work faithful in both Uganda and Minnesota.
Founder & Lead Pastor / Overseer
Ian Sendi
Ian Sendi is the founder of Bridges of Grace, formerly known as Sendi Ian Foundation.
In 2007, Ian began this work in Kampala, Uganda, with a burden to reach people who were often forgotten — children on the streets, vulnerable young people, struggling families, women in need of support, and communities longing for hope.
What began as a small step of obedience became a growing ministry of Gospel outreach, discipleship, children and family care, community support, and Christian mission.
Through the years, Ian has helped lead the work with a heart for people to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in the Word of God, experience the love of family and community, and walk in dignity and purpose.
In 2021, Bridges of Grace was registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Minnesota to strengthen missionary work, discipleship, fundraising, governance, and support for the ministry in Uganda. In December 2025, the board voted to dissolve Sendi Ian Foundation into Bridges of Grace so the work could continue under one unified name, structure, and mission.
As Founder and Lead Pastor / Overseer, Ian provides spiritual vision, ministry direction, pastoral leadership, Bible teaching, discipleship, and oversight for Bridges of Grace and Bridges of Grace Church in Uganda.
His prayer is to see lives transformed by the Gospel, families strengthened through love, young people raised with purpose, and communities served with the compassion of Christ.
Board of Directors
Bridges of Grace is governed by a Board of Directors that provides legal, financial, spiritual, and organizational oversight.
The Board helps protect the mission of the organization, approve major decisions, oversee finances, strengthen accountability, and support the long-term health of the ministry.
Their role is to help ensure that Bridges of Grace serves with integrity, transparency, prayer, wisdom, and responsible stewardship.
We believe good governance is part of honoring God. Every gift, every decision, and every ministry opportunity must be handled with care.
Ministry Leadership
The daily work of Bridges of Grace is carried out through ministry leaders, pastors, caregivers, teachers, volunteers, missionaries, and community servants.
These leaders help support Gospel outreach, discipleship and Bible teaching, prayer, children and family care, church ministry, community support, and nature conservation.
Some serve publicly. Others serve quietly behind the scenes. Each one matters.
We are grateful for every person who uses their gifts, time, wisdom, and compassion to help carry the work of grace forward.
How we lead
Our leadership is shaped by five commitments.
Christ-centered service
Jesus Christ is the foundation of Bridges of Grace.
We want our leadership to reflect His humility, truth, compassion, holiness, and love. We do not want to build a ministry around personalities. We want to build a ministry that points people to Christ.
Faithfulness to God’s Word
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for our faith, teaching, ministry, and daily life.
Our leaders are called to teach the truth, live with obedience, and help others grow as faithful disciples of Jesus.
Integrity and accountability
We are committed to honest leadership, responsible stewardship, proper governance, and accountability before God, our board, our donors, and the communities we serve.
The work of ministry must be handled with clean hands and a sincere heart.
Compassion for people
Every person we serve is created in the image of God.
Our leaders are called to treat children, families, young people, women, and communities with dignity, patience, kindness, and respect.
We lead by caring well.
Discipleship and growth
Leaders must also be disciples.
We are committed to growing in Christ, raising faithful leaders, teaching others, and helping people become mature followers of Jesus.
Our prayer
Our prayer is that every leader connected to Bridges of Grace would serve with humility, wisdom, courage, and a deep love for Jesus Christ.
May our leadership always protect the mission.
May our service bring hope to people.
May our decisions honor God.
May our work remain rooted in grace.
Christ is the Shepherd.
Christ is the message.
Christ is the foundation.
Christ is the reason we serve.
