Church & Community Care

Serving people with the love of Christ

At Bridges of Grace, we believe church ministry and community care belong together.

The Gospel we preach also teaches us to love our neighbors, carry one another’s burdens, and care for people with compassion. Jesus did not only speak to people from a distance. He came near. He listened. He touched the hurting. He welcomed the overlooked. He restored dignity to those who had been pushed aside.

This is the heart we desire to carry.

Through Bridges of Grace Church and our community care work, we want people to experience the love of Christ in both word and action. We want families to be strengthened, children to be protected, young people to be guided, and communities to be served with humility and grace.

A church that cares

Bridges of Grace Church is currently meeting as a house church in Central Uganda.

This season is helping us build slowly and faithfully. We are gathering around prayer, worship, Bible teaching, discipleship, fellowship, and pastoral care. We are learning to be a church family before we become a public church space.

Our vision is to officially launch Bridges of Grace Church in January 2027 as a Christ-centered church that preaches the Gospel, teaches the Word of God, makes disciples, and serves the surrounding community with love.

We are praying for a church that does more than hold services.

A church where children are loved.
A church where families are strengthened.
A church where young people are discipled.
A church where the vulnerable are seen.
A church where prayer is offered freely.
A church where the Word of God shapes daily life.
A church where Jesus Christ is honored in everything.

Why community care matters

Many people are carrying needs they cannot carry alone.

Some children need safety, shelter, food, education, and the love of family. Some young people need guidance, discipleship, mentorship, and hope. Some women need encouragement, support, dignity, and practical skills. Some families need prayer, counsel, and help through difficult seasons.

Bridges of Grace exists to stand near people in these places.

We believe every person is created in the image of God and carries value, dignity, and purpose. This is why we serve. This is why we care. This is why the Church must not remain hidden behind walls while people around us are hurting.

Community care gives us a way to show the love of Jesus in real life.

How we serve

Our church and community care work includes spiritual, emotional, and practical support.

We serve through prayer, pastoral care, house church gatherings, Bible teaching, discipleship, children and family support, encouragement for vulnerable young adults and women, community visits, Gospel outreach, mentorship, family support, and practical help where possible.

Sometimes care looks like prayer.
Sometimes it looks like a visit.
Sometimes it is a meal, school support, clothing, shelter, counsel, or encouragement.
Sometimes it is simply staying close enough for someone to know they are not alone.

Our desire is to serve in ways that are faithful, respectful, and Christlike.

Caring for children and families

One of the deepest parts of our story is the care of children.

Over the years, Bridges of Grace, formerly known as Sendi Ian Foundation, has helped care for children from the streets and unsafe living conditions in Uganda. Many came from places where they lacked safety, family stability, food, shelter, healthcare, clothing, or access to education.

By God’s grace, children have been welcomed into places where they could receive care, protection, love, and the experience of family.

We believe children should not grow up feeling forgotten. They should know they are loved by God, valued by people, and created with purpose.

Through church and community care, we continue walking with children and families so they can experience hope, dignity, and practical support.

Walking with vulnerable young adults and women

Bridges of Grace also comes alongside vulnerable young adults and women.

Many are trying to rebuild after seasons of hardship, poverty, discouragement, broken family situations, or lack of opportunity. Our desire is to encourage them, teach them, pray with them, and help them gain the skills, confidence, and spiritual strength they need to move forward.

We believe restoration is not only about helping someone for a moment. It is about walking with them toward dignity, faith, and purpose.

Through discipleship, mentorship, practical care, and community support, we want people to discover their God-given value and grow into the life God has called them to live.

A church beyond Sunday

Bridges of Grace Church is not being built only for Sunday services.

We are praying for a church that serves throughout the week — teaching, visiting, praying, discipling, supporting, training, encouraging, and caring.

We want to be a church that welcomes the community and also goes into the community.

A church that preaches Christ clearly.
A church that teaches Scripture faithfully.
A church that protects children.
A church that strengthens homes.
A church that equips young people.
A church that serves the vulnerable.
A church that reflects the kindness of Jesus.

How you can support church and community care

You can support this work through prayer, giving, volunteering, partnership, and encouragement.

Your support helps Bridges of Grace provide church ministry resources, pastoral care, discipleship materials, children and family support, community outreach, basic care where needed, support for vulnerable young adults and women, and resources for the January 2027 church launch.

Every prayer matters.
Every act of generosity helps.
Every willing servant strengthens the work.

Together, we can help more people experience the love of Christ in practical and lasting ways.

Our prayer

Our prayer is that Bridges of Grace Church will become a faithful home for people in Central Uganda and a strong witness of Christ’s love in the community.

We want to see people saved by the Gospel.
Believers growing through the Word.
Children loved and protected.
Families strengthened.
Young people guided.
Women encouraged.
Communities served with compassion.

This is the heart of church and community care.

To preach Christ.
To make disciples.
To love people.
