Church & Community Care
Serving people with the love of Christ
At Bridges of Grace, church ministry and community care belong together.
We believe the Church is called to preach the Gospel, teach the Word of God, make disciples, worship Christ, and care for people with love. The same Gospel that saves souls also teaches us to love our neighbors, carry one another’s burdens, and serve those who are hurting, vulnerable, forgotten, or in need.
For Bridges of Grace, community care is not separate from ministry. It is part of our witness. It is one of the ways we show the heart of Jesus Christ to children, families, young people, women, and communities.
We want people not only to hear that God loves them, but to experience His love through faithful, compassionate service.
The heart of our church ministry
Bridges of Grace Church is currently operating as a house church in Central Uganda. In this season, we are building a foundation of prayer, Bible teaching, worship, discipleship, fellowship, and pastoral care.
Our vision is to officially launch Bridges of Grace Church in January 2027 as a Christ-centered church family that reaches people with the Gospel, strengthens families through the Word of God, supports children and vulnerable people, and serves the surrounding community with grace and truth.
We believe a healthy church should be a place where people are welcomed, taught, discipled, corrected, encouraged, prayed for, and cared for.
A place where children are loved.
A place where families are strengthened.
A place where young people are guided.
A place where the vulnerable are seen.
A place where the Word of God is taught.
A place where Jesus Christ is glorified.
Why community care matters
Many people are facing burdens they cannot carry alone.
Some children need safety, shelter, food, education, and family care.
Some young people need guidance, discipleship, mentorship, and hope.
Some women need encouragement, support, dignity, and practical skills.
Some families need prayer, counsel, and help in difficult seasons.
Some communities need both the message of the Gospel and practical expressions of love.
Bridges of Grace exists to stand in these places with compassion.
We believe every person is created by God with dignity, value, and purpose. This is why we serve. This is why we care. This is why we reach beyond the walls of the church and walk with people in real life.
How we care for communities

We serve through:

Compassionate care for families in need.
Community awareness and nature stewardship.
Our desire is to serve people in ways that are faithful, respectful, and Christlike.
Caring for children and families
One of the deepest parts of our story is the care of children.
Over the years, Bridges of Grace, formerly known as Sendi Ian Foundation, has helped rescue and care for children from the streets and unsafe living conditions in Uganda. Many came from places where they lacked safety, family stability, food, shelter, healthcare, clothing, or access to education.
Through this work, children have been welcomed into homes where they can receive care, protection, love, and the experience of family.
We believe children should not grow up feeling forgotten. They should grow up knowing they are loved by God, valued by people, and created with purpose.
Walking with vulnerable young adults and women
Bridges of Grace also walks alongside vulnerable young adults and women by encouraging them, teaching them, and helping them gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to move forward in life.
We believe restoration is not only about giving help for a moment. It is about helping people rebuild with dignity.
Through discipleship, mentorship, practical care, and community support, we want people to discover their God-given value and become strong in faith, family, and purpose.
A church that serves beyond Sunday
Bridges of Grace Church is not being built only for Sunday services.
We are praying for a church that serves throughout the week — a church that teaches, visits, prays, disciples, supports, trains, encourages, and cares.
We want to be a church that welcomes the community and also goes into the community.
A church that preaches the Gospel clearly.
A church that teaches the Bible faithfully.
A church that cares for children and families.
A church that strengthens homes.
A church that equips young people.
A church that serves the vulnerable.
A church that reflects the love of Jesus.
