What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith
Bridges of Grace Church is built on Jesus Christ and guided by the Word of God.
We believe doctrine matters because what we believe shapes how we live, worship, teach, serve, and care for people. Our faith is not only something we confess with words. It is something we seek to live with humility, love, obedience, and faithfulness to Christ.
The Bible is the foundation of our teaching. Jesus is the center of our message. The Holy Spirit is the One who empowers us to live, serve, and bear witness to the Gospel.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible, made up of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. It is true, trustworthy, authoritative, and sufficient for faith and Christian living.
Through Scripture, God reveals who He is, shows us the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teaches us truth, corrects us, and equips us for the life He has called us to live.
Because of this, the Word of God is central to our preaching, discipleship, church ministry, family care, and community service.
Scripture references: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105
The One True God
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one God, equal in divine nature, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and worthy of all worship, glory, honor, and obedience.
Scripture references: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
God the Father
We believe God the Father is the Creator, Sustainer, and sovereign Lord over all things.
He is holy, loving, just, merciful, faithful, and full of grace. He cares for His creation, hears the prayers of His people, and works according to His good purpose.
Through Jesus Christ, believers are brought into relationship with Him as sons and daughters.
Scripture references: Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; Ephesians 1:3–6; James 1:17
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man.
He came into the world to reveal the Father, fulfill Scripture, save sinners, and redeem humanity. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
Jesus is Savior, Lord, Redeemer, King, Head of the Church, and the only way to the Father.
Scripture references: John 1:1–14; Luke 1:30–35; John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Philippians 2:5–11; Hebrews 4:15
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and active in the life of every believer.
He convicts the world of sin, brings new birth, dwells in believers, teaches, comforts, sanctifies, empowers, guides, and gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.
We depend on the Holy Spirit for holiness, prayer, service, wisdom, courage, and faithful witness.
Scripture references: John 14:16–17; John 16:7–15; Romans 8:1–14; Galatians 5:16–25; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7
Humanity
We believe every person is created by God in His image and carries dignity, value, and purpose.
Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and in need of redemption. No one can save themselves by good works, religion, personal effort, or human righteousness. Every person needs the grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ.
This belief shapes how we serve children, families, young people, women, and communities. We serve because every life matters to God.
Scripture references: Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1–10
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation is the gift of God, not the result of human works. Through repentance and faith in Christ, people are forgiven, made new, reconciled to God, and given eternal life.
Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for sin and rose again in victory. His finished work on the cross is the only foundation of our salvation.
Scripture references: John 3:16–18; John 14:6; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers in Jesus Christ.
The local church gathers for worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship, discipleship, service, care, and witness to the world. The Church is called to preach the Gospel, make disciples, baptize believers, teach obedience to Christ, care for the vulnerable, and demonstrate the love of God in word and action.
Bridges of Grace Church is currently meeting as a house church in Central Uganda, with a vision to officially launch and grow into a faithful church family in January 2027.
Scripture references: Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 2:42–47; Romans 12:4–5; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 4:11–16
The Great Commission
We believe Jesus Christ has commanded His followers to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
This command is central to the mission of Bridges of Grace. Our work in Uganda and Minnesota flows from this calling: to reach people with the message of Christ, disciple believers, teach the Word of God, and serve communities with love.
Scripture references: Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20
Discipleship and Christian Growth
We believe every believer is called to grow in Christlikeness.
Discipleship is the steady work of learning the Word of God, walking in obedience, praying, growing in holiness, serving others, and helping others follow Jesus.
This is why Bible teaching, prayer, discipleship classes, devotional messages, leadership training, and spiritual formation are central to Bridges of Grace Church.
Scripture references: Luke 9:23; Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:22–25; Colossians 1:28; 2 Timothy 2:2
Christian Service and Compassion
We believe the Gospel must be preached with truth and demonstrated with love.
Followers of Jesus are called to care for the vulnerable, love their neighbors, serve the poor, strengthen families, protect children, encourage the brokenhearted, and show mercy to those in need.
For Bridges of Grace, Christian service includes children and family support, community care, church ministry, outreach, discipleship, and responsible stewardship of God’s creation.
Scripture references: Matthew 5:16; Matthew 25:35–40; James 1:27; James 2:14–17; 1 John 3:16–18
Marriage and Family
We believe marriage and family are ordained by God and should be honored according to biblical teaching.
Families are important places of love, discipleship, care, responsibility, and spiritual formation. Bridges of Grace desires to strengthen homes so children, young people, women, and families can grow in the love and Word of God.
Scripture references: Genesis 2:24; Joshua 24:15; Ephesians 5:22–33; Ephesians 6:1–4
The Sanctity of Life
We believe all human life is created by God and carries dignity, value, and purpose.
Every child, every woman, every young person, every vulnerable person, every family, and every community matters to Him. This conviction shapes our care for those who are often overlooked, hurting, or forgotten.
Scripture references: Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return in power and glory.
His return is the hope of the Church and the assurance that God will fully establish His Kingdom, judge evil, restore all things, and gather His people to Himself forever.
Because Christ is coming again, we desire to live faithfully, share the Gospel with urgency and compassion, make disciples, and serve people with love.
Scripture references: John 14:1–3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 22:12–13
Eternal Life and Final Judgment
We believe there is eternal life for those who trust in Jesus Christ and final judgment for those who reject Him.
Those who belong to Christ will be with Him forever in glory. Those who reject Christ remain separated from God. This truth moves us to preach with humility, compassion, and love.
Scripture references: John 5:24; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–5
The Responsibility of Believers
We believe every believer is called to live by the Spirit, walk in obedience to God’s Word, love others, serve faithfully, and bear witness to Jesus Christ in both word and action.
Our lives should reflect the grace we have received. We are called to be light in the world, faithful in service, generous in love, and committed to the mission of Christ.
Scripture references: Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:16–25; 2 Corinthians 5:14–20; Colossians 3:12–17
Our Heart
At the center of everything we believe is Jesus Christ.
He is the Son of God.
He is the Savior of the world.
He is the Head of the Church.
He is the hope of the nations.
He is the grace we preach.
He is the reason we serve.
Bridges of Grace Church exists to know Him, worship Him, proclaim Him, follow Him, and make Him known.
