Volunteer

Serve with us in the work of grace

At Bridges of Grace, volunteers are part of the family of people helping carry the mission forward.

Some serve through prayer. Some teach. Some encourage children. Some help with outreach, media, administration, church ministry, or community care. Others serve quietly behind the scenes.

Every willing heart matters.

We believe God uses ordinary people to show His love in meaningful ways. When you volunteer with Bridges of Grace, you help us preach the Gospel, make disciples, care for children and families, support Bridges of Grace Church, and serve communities in Uganda and Minnesota.

You do not have to do everything. You simply need a heart willing to serve where God has given you grace, ability, and opportunity.

Why volunteering matters

The mission of Bridges of Grace cannot be carried by one person alone.

It takes people who are willing to pray, visit, teach, mentor, organize, encourage, give their time, share their skills, and stand with those who need care.

When you volunteer, you become part of a story much bigger than yourself.

You help a child feel seen.
You help a family feel supported.
You help a young person receive guidance.
You help the Gospel reach more people.
You help the church grow in service and love.

Even a small act of service can become a bridge of grace in someone’s life.

Who can volunteer

We welcome people who love Jesus, care about people, and desire to serve with humility.

Volunteers may include church members, friends, students, teachers, pastors, caregivers, professionals, creatives, administrators, prayer partners, ministry supporters, and anyone who wants to help advance the mission of Bridges of Grace.

Some roles may require training, references, background checks, child protection screening, leadership approval, or agreement with Bridges of Grace policies. This is especially important for roles involving children, vulnerable people, finances, teaching, pastoral care, or ministry leadership.

Our desire is to create a safe, respectful, accountable, and Christlike environment for everyone we serve.

Ways to serve

Gospel Outreach

You can help reach people with the message and love of Jesus Christ through evangelism, prayer, community visits, outreach gatherings, invitations, follow-up, transportation support, and ministry preparation.

This work helps carry the Gospel into homes, neighborhoods, gatherings, and everyday places of life.

Discipleship & Bible Teaching

You can support Bible studies, discipleship classes, devotional messages, teaching preparation, small groups, youth guidance, and leadership training.

Volunteers in this area help people grow in the Word of God and become faithful followers of Jesus Christ.

Bridges of Grace Church

You can help support Bridges of Grace Church in Central Uganda as we prepare for the January 2027 launch.

Opportunities may include worship ministry, ushering, hospitality, children’s ministry, prayer ministry, media support, church setup, administration, outreach, and launch preparation.

We are praying for faithful people who will help build a church family rooted in Christ, prayer, worship, Scripture, and love for the community.

Children & Family Support

You can serve children and families through mentorship, tutoring, prayer, family support, organizing supplies, helping with education resources, supporting children’s activities, and encouraging caregivers.

Because children and vulnerable people are precious, volunteers in this area must be willing to follow child protection and safeguarding expectations.

Every child should be treated with dignity, safety, patience, and love.

Community Care

You can help serve families, vulnerable young adults, women, and communities through practical care, visits, encouragement, food and clothing support, skills support, outreach, and compassionate service.

Community care helps people experience the love of Christ in practical ways.

Nature Conservation

You can serve through tree planting, community clean-up activities, environmental awareness, gardening, caring for ministry spaces, and teaching young people about responsible stewardship of God’s creation.

We believe caring for creation is one way we care for families and communities.

Prayer Team

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways to serve.

You can volunteer as a prayer partner by praying regularly for Bridges of Grace, our leaders, children, families, church launch, outreach work, ministry needs, finances, volunteers, and the communities we serve.

Before we build, we pray.
Before we preach, we pray.
Before we launch, we pray.
Before we serve, we pray.

Media, Writing & Communications

You can help with writing, photography, video editing, newsletters, website updates, devotional posts, social media, fundraising campaigns, ministry reports, and storytelling.

This helps Bridges of Grace share the mission clearly and invite more people to pray, give, volunteer, and partner with the work.

Administration & Fundraising Support

You can volunteer with donor communication, event planning, data entry, fundraising support, grant research, document organization, reporting, and other administrative needs.

Behind every visible ministry moment, there is faithful support work helping the mission move forward with care and accountability.

What we ask of volunteers

Volunteers with Bridges of Grace are expected to serve with humility, integrity, kindness, respect, and accountability.

We ask every volunteer to honor Jesus Christ in their conduct, protect children and vulnerable people, respect the dignity of everyone served, follow ministry guidance, keep confidential information private, use resources responsibly, and represent Bridges of Grace faithfully.

Serving is a privilege. We want to serve in a way that honors God and protects people.

Our volunteer process

If you are interested in volunteering, the process may include:

Completing a volunteer interest form.
Sharing the area where you would like to serve.
Meeting with a Bridges of Grace leader.
Completing any required training or screening.
Agreeing to the Volunteer / Ministry Worker Code of Conduct.
Being placed in an approved volunteer role.

Not every opportunity will be available at all times. We will prayerfully help connect volunteers to areas where their gifts, availability, and heart can serve the mission well.

Serve in Uganda or Minnesota

Bridges of Grace serves in both Uganda and Minnesota.

In Uganda, volunteers may help with church ministry, children and family support, discipleship, Gospel outreach, community care, and nature conservation.

In Minnesota, volunteers may help with missionary outreach, prayer, discipleship, administration, fundraising, donor communication, media, website support, and ministry partnerships.

Wherever you are, there is a way to stand with the work.

Our prayer for volunteers

Our prayer is that every volunteer who serves with Bridges of Grace will serve with the heart of Christ.

May we serve with humility.
May we love with patience.
May we protect the vulnerable.
May we encourage the weary.
May we teach with truth.
May we care with compassion.
May we point people to Jesus.

The work is growing, and the need is real.

We invite you to serve with us in the work of grace.
